Hector Bellerin has made a very confident statement by saying that Tottenham ‘will always be in Arsenal’s shadow’ as the Gunners defeated Newcastle United 2-0 to move ahead in the Premier League table.
Yesterday’s win over Newcastle saw Unai Emery’s side climb to third in the table, two points ahead of struggling Tottenham.
Injured defender Bellerin took to the pitch at half-time to provide the Arsenal fans with an update on his recovery from a season-ending ACL injury. And he could not help but poke fun at Spurs, telling Arsenal fans: "It’s good to be above Tottenham as it stands. They’re always in our shadow!"
Spurs suffered a dramatic defeat to league leaders Liverpool on Sunday.
Bellerin, 24, underwent surgery on his left knee earlier in the year and said of his recovery: "I went out to Dubai with the lads as part of the next stage of my rehab. "I’m feeling better every day and I can’t wait to be back."
