Arsenal midfielder and Armenia national team captain Henrikh Mkhitaryan has paid tribute to legendary singer, songwriter Charles Aznavour, who died at the age of 94.
Aznavour, who was born Shahnour Varinag Aznavourian in Paris to Armenian parents, sold more than 100m records in 80 countries and had about 1,400 songs to his name, including 1,300 he wrote himself. He was always devoted to his roots and did a great job for both Armenia and its society.
Armenian international Henrikh Mkhitaryan posted on his social media account a picture with the legend with the following inscription: ‘Today we heard the news that our dear Charles Aznavour passed away. He left us but his creations will always stay in our hearts. You’ll always be the Great for me and for us. Rest in peace.’
