Manchester City star Phil Foden has shared thoughts on the possibility of departing the club in the future.
Foden has been a prime example of the success achieved by Manchester City's youth academy following the takeover by the Abu Dhabi United Group in 2008.
Having progressed from the youngest age group within the system to establish himself as a key player in the first team, the 23-year-old forward has accumulated an impressive record of 67 goals and 47 assists in all competitions since his senior debut in the 2016/17 season. This remarkable journey has been accompanied by a substantial collection of trophies.
In the current 2023/24 season, Foden has assumed a pivotal role for Pep Guardiola's team, logging close to 2,000 minutes as the year approaches its conclusion.
Despite his deep connection to the club where he began his career, Foden has recently expressed openness to the idea of exploring new challenges in European football, hinting at the potential for a departure from his boyhood club at some point.
However, in a recent interview with the club, the attacker said: “No, honestly. I just always see myself as a City player."
“I always just thought if I work hard enough and I know what my ability is about, I can push in the team and over time I started getting more minutes and now I’m probably getting the most minutes I’ve had this year.”
