How Belgium's strongest lineup would look like in Euro 2020

Belgium have already announced their 26-man squad for the upcoming Euro 2020. The summer tournament has been canceled last year due to the Covid pandemic, and is scheduled to take place this year. Eden Hazard is included in the squad after being left out in the World Cup 2022 qualifiers due to injury. Man City’s Kevin De Bruyne, Spurs’ Toby Alderweireld, Leicester’s Youri Tielemans, Dennis Praet, Timothy Castagne, Wolves’ Leander Dendoncker and so many more have also been included in the Red Devils’ squad. And with the European Championship on the horizon, here are the strongest ways the Belgian Red Devils can line up this summer.

3-4-3 formation

Thibaut Courtois will start in between the sticks, with Alderweireld, Jason Denayer and Jan Vertonghen forming the defence. Dendoncker and Tielemans will team up with Thorgan Hazard and Thomas Meunier in the midfield. Dries Mertens, De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku will complete the lineup in the attack.

3-4-3 formation #2

3-4-3 is arguably Roberto Martínez' favourite choice of formation, so let's how else they could line up. Courtois again in between the sticks, with Alderweireld, Denayer and Dedryck Boyata, this time, in the defence. In the midfield Yannick Carrasco and Timothy Castagne will replace Hazard and Meunier, while Eden Hazard will replace Mertens in the left wing. Belgium are included in the Group B, alongside Denmark, Finland and Russia. The Red Devils' first game is scheduled on Saturday, June 12, against Russia at the Saint Petersburg Stadium.
