Chelsea have reached the Champions League final for the first time since 2012. The Blues celebrated a 3-1 on aggregate win over Real Madrid and will now face Manchester City in the final on May 29.
Ahead of the final game, let's take a look and see how the Blues squad looked like the last time they were in the UCL final. The last time they reached a Champions League final was back in 2012 when the team was coached by Roberto Di Matteo.
Chelsea were placed in Group E with Bayer Leverkusen, Valencia and Genk. The Blues topped the league and faced Napoli in the round of 16, after which they faced Benfica in the quarter-finals.
In the semi-finals, the Blues celebrated a 3-2 on aggregate win over Barcelona and reached the final where they faced Bayern Munich. The game ended in a 1-1 draw and Chelsea celebrated a 4-3 victory on penalties.
The Blues starting XI looked as follows: Petr Cech; José Bosingwa, David Luiz, Gary Cahill, Ashley Cole; John Obi Mikel, Frank Lampard, Juan Mata; Salomon Kalou, Ryan Bertrand, Didier Drogba.
