Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris admitted he felt really upset following his mistake in the clash with Southampton which helped the Saints to equalize the score.
Lloris tried a Cruyff turn three yards from his goal line and failed to take the ball with him, letting Danny Ings score.
"It was important to show a response after the last few games. I think today we showed personality and character, especially after the red card and my mistake. We showed the togetherness that we used to show. That’s the most important thing today, that we got the three points. Now we are looking for continuity," the Frenchman said after the game.
"You know as a keeper you can face that type of moment. The most important thing is how you react, to keep on pushing up. I was really upset with myself, but that’s normal. The most important thing is in the second half is I stayed in my game, I stayed calm and today this mistake didn’t cost the team any points and that’s important to me."
Despite Lloris’ mistake, Spurs managed to win 2-1 over Southampton and now are in the fifth place in the Premier League table.
