Mohamed Salah has claimed that he wants to be the "best player in the world", while his current ambitions are qualifying for the World Cup and winning African Cup of Nations with Egypt national team.
In an exclusive interview with British GQ, Liverpool attacker has opened up on the individual awards, saying he is "not really bothered by that”. However, the player is still determined to reach higher success in his career.
"
If you asked me if this was a drive for me to be here? Yeah, of course. I can't really lie and say honestly I didn't think about it. No, I think about it," he continued.
"I want to be the best player in the world. But I will have a good life even if I don't win [the Ballon d'Or]. My life is OK, everything is fine. Sometimes I feel it's just politics.”
Then the Egypt international added:
“I want to qualify for the World Cup again, I want to win the African Cup [of Nations].”
