Eric Dier has opened up on his 'worst moment' with England international career.
Tottenham star, who is in Gareth Southgate's 26-man World Cup squad, confessed that failing to making it into the Three Lions' last summer's Euros squad was probably one of the worst periods of his career.
Speaking via Football London, the 28-year-old claimed how he almost thought that his international career had come to an end following his poor performance and constant injuries.
“I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think that (my England career was over) was a possibility.
“When I missed out on the Euros squad, obviously one of the worst moments for me in my career. But I always say when I say that I must have had a pretty good career if that’s one of the worst moments.
“I’m just grateful to be here now. It was good for me in many ways. It propelled me to play, for me, the best football I’ve played in my career." added Dier.
England will play their opening World Cup match against Iran at Khalifa International Stadium on November 21.
