Jurgen Klopp has hinted that he has advised the Liverpool board to extend James Milner's contract at the club.
Milner, who joined the Reds in 2015, is out of contract at the end of this season.
The 36-year-old has made 10 appearances in all competitions this term, as Klopp considers him an important player for the team.
Speaking to
Mirror, the German boss said that he 'wishes' for James to stay.
“By talks I mean I indicated my wish that James stays with us beyond this season, in a playing capacity," he told.
"James will keep playing, he has told me this. So he should, by the way.”
