Manchester United’s hopes of signing Milan Skriniar have been dashed after Inter Milan insisted ‘nobody can afford him’.
The defender was heavily scouted by United during Jose Mourinho’s time at the club and he’s remained on their shortlist after the Portuguese’s departure.
Skriniar, 23, is considered to be the right profile for the club but Inter insist no club can afford the Slovakian.
“Skriniar is staying here, he is out of everybody’s price range,” said manager Luciano Spalletti. ‘Nobody can afford him.’
United are now interested in Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly as well as Liverpool player Virgil Van Dijk.
