Former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton had anticipated that Mauricio Pochettino would rotate his team during this season.
Sutton finds it unexpected that Pochettino has consistently fielded the same set of players in Chelsea's Premier League games.
Currently, eight players have started in all six of Chelsea's Premier League matches, including Axel Disasi, Conor Gallagher, Enzo Fernandez, Levi Colwill, Nicolas Jackson, Raheem Sterling, Robert Sanchez, and Thiago Silva.
However, this number will decrease to at least seven when the Blues face Fulham next Monday, as Jackson will be suspended after receiving his fifth yellow card during the weekend match against Aston Villa.
“What I find interesting about their opening six games is that I thought he would have chopped and changed a lot, but there have been eight players who have started every game so they have had a chance to get up to speed and get that rhythm," Sutton said as spoke on The Monday Night Club, via The Chelsea Chronicle.
“But you look at their first 11 and it’s a bit of a development squad when you compare it to Man City and Liverpool, that’s not an impressive first 11 at all."
