Arsenal could be interested in five new players in the January transfer window. Mikel Arteta looks to winter overhaul after a hectic start to the season. The Gunners have suffered a difficult campaign so far this season, lying closer to the Premier League relegation zone. That has led to Arteta signalling a refresh is needed with his squad. Attacking midfielder Isco could be the number one target for the Gunners. The Real Madrid player has struggled to fulfil his potential at Bernabeu. He has still registered 51 goals and 55 assists during his time at Los Blancos The need for creative help could also lead the North Londoners to Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Brandt. Brandt is only in his second season at Signal Iduna Park, although he has struggled to replicate the form that saw him star for Bayer Leverkusen. Christian Falk has claimed that Arsenal players are already talking about Brandt as a potential arrival. Meanwhile, Houssem Aouar was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates last summer after registering 19 goals and 19 assists in just 119 Ligue 1 appearances. Another look at Aouar could well be on the cards for Arteta. A cheaper option for Arsenal would be Norwich City midfielder, Emiliano Buendia. Buendia has scored six goals and registered seven assists in his side’s first 22 games back in the second tier. The Gunners also have their eye on Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey as a replacement for Hector Bellerin, with the 20-year-old impressing at the Amex. Lamptey has cemented his starting spot on the right-hand side of Graham Potter’s backline and he could be the perfect replacement.
