Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Mohamed Salah's situation regarding the new contract at Liverpool.
According to the sports journalist, the deal is still "not close" as nothing is agreed between the two sides.
“They are still negotiating," Romano said on
his Here We Go podcast."
But from what I’ve heard in the last few hours, it is not close. We are not at the final stages, or close to an announcement. For Liverpool, it is a real priority, they want to resolve it as soon as possible.”
Salah's current deal expires in the summer of 2023. The failure of securing a new deal for the attacker may see the club selling him in one of the upcoming transfer windows.
