Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland send messages to Manchester City teammate after seemingly farewell gesture

Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland used their social media platforms to commend midfielder Kalvin Phillips following the midfielder's latest display for Manchester City.

Phillips scored his debut goal for the Citizens in a 3-2 Champions League victory over Red Star Belgrade on Wednesday. In this game, youngsters Micah Hamilton and Oscar Bobb also scored before Phillips' late penalty secured the win.

Despite the achievement, Phillips' subdued celebration sparked speculation about his future with the team. He acknowledged the fans after the goal, prompting suggestions that he might be indicating a potential departure in the upcoming transfer window.

Grealish shared a Man City post of Phillips' reaction on Instagram, tagging the player and adding three blue hearts.

Phillips has been linked with potential transfers to Newcastle, Manchester United, and Juventus. As an English international, he aims to secure consistent playing opportunities to strengthen his bid for a spot in Gareth Southgate's squad for the 2024 European Championship in Germany.

With 31 caps, he played a key role in the midfield alongside Declan Rice during Euro 2020, earning him the moniker 'Yorkshire Pirlo.' However, limited chances at Manchester have hindered his ability to showcase his top form.
