James Milner reveals what Lionel Messi told him during the first semi-final at Camp Nou
Liverpool star James Milner has revealed what Lionel Messi told him during Champions League semi-finals first leg at Camp Nou Stadium, when Merseyside club lost 3-0 to Barcelona.
“He wasn't happy. He was giving me plenty in Spanish going down the tunnel at half-time as well. He was calling me 'burro'. It translates as donkey but I think it's also used in Spanish football as a general term for someone who goes around kicking people.” Milner told Daily Mail during the interview.
Messi and Milner have been involved in a conversation in the first half, when England international shoulder-barged Argentine star after the latest was fouled by Andrew Robertson.
Liverpool managed to produce an incredible comeback against Barcelona after beating La Liga champions 4-0 at Anfield Road to knock them out.
Merseyside club will face Tottenham in UCL final at Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.
