Jose Mourinho could not help but aim a dig a Jurgen Klopp after Liverpool failed to beat Manchester United.
Adam Lallana cancelled out Marcus Rashford's opener with a late strike as the Reds claimed a 1-1 draw against the Red Devils at Old Trafford.
Klopp has taken just one point in six visits to Old Trafford and was frustrated.
“
Everybody is happy when United are playing against Liverpool, they think both teams are trying… they are not really trying,” he said, in reference to the home side’s defensive display. “The quality? We are one team. When United play us, everybody is on their toes.”
Solskjaer dismissed those claims and insisted his side did have a positive approach.
He said: “
We set the team up to attack and be aggressive and create chances and I think we did that."
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live about the way the game unfolded, Solskjaer added: "
You can say that it’s a bonus we made them look at tactics. When you get teams doing something different to what they normally do then you know you have executed your plan. But then they still caused us problems the second half and we struggled with possession and that was why we were tired."
Klopp’s comments led to former United boss Mourinho taking a dig at his former rival: “
Because he never beat Manchester United at Old Trafford. I think he didn't like the menu. He likes meat and he got fish, so he was not happy."
The Reds remain unbeaten this season and are six points clear of second-placed Manchester City. United, meanwhile, are in 13th place with 10 points.
