Liverpool legend John Arne Riise says he was thinking about going home in the dressing room during the Champions League 2005 final against AC Milan.
Merseyside club were 0-3 down after 45 minutes, but managed to come back, scoring 3 goals in 6 minutes. Riise had his hand on the comeback, when he assisted Steven Gerrard during the first goal.
Former Norway international didn't score during the penalty shoot-out, but it didn't prevent Liverpool from winning their 5th European title and produce one of the most historical matches in this game.
"Even though you know everything happens in the sport, you don’t believe it, because certain things in sports shouldn’t happen and that (the comeback) shouldn’t happen, but it happened, that’s why you love sport." Riise told beIN Sports.
"I was in the dressing room thinking, 'I want to go home now!'" he added.
