Manchester City dropped points in the game against Newcastle as Jonjo Shelvey scored an equalizer in a 2-2 draw on Saturday.
After the game, former the Reds player, Shelvey, spoke to
BT Sport and jokingly claimed that he might be a hero in Liverpool.
"We thought we deserved a point there," said Shelvey.
"I might be a hero at Liverpool now, but listen it's about us and we need to get as many points as quick as possible to guarantee the safety of this club."
Currently the Reds are leading the league table with 40 points, 11 points ahead of second placed Manchester City.
