Jose Enrique has claimed that Luis Suarez was a better fit for Liverpool than Mo Salah.
The former Reds' left-bak spent 3 years playing alongside the Uruguayan, and has recently named him as the “best player he’s ever seen.”
Speaking to
Liverpool ECHO, Enrique claimed that he still puts Suarez 'ahead a little bit' over Salah.
"To be honest, I want to see this season of Salah in full and maybe I would change my opinions to him!", said the 35-year-old
"For me, Suarez is the best player I've ever seen.
"You can compare the two teams of Liverpool that nearly won the league 13/14 with the one now, but the reality is Salah has Firmino, Jota and Mane all scoring as well.
"And how dependent were we on Luis at times? He would take the ball past three or four defenders and do something. I've never seen that before.
"They also play in two different positions. Salah is more of a winger who comes inside, Luis was a proper No.9, wasn't he?
"Well, Luis was everything really but he played as a No.9. So I still have my doubts whether Salah is better.
"I played with Luis as well, so maybe that is why my opinion is what it is.
"I still put Suarez in that kind of level, ahead a little bit. If Salah continues as he is, I might change my mind. Just not yet."
