Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton “get a bit nervous” around Max Verstappen, reckons Jos Verstappen. After finishing third in last year’s championship, Verstappen is expected to show huge competition to Hamilton.
Verstappen insists he is up for the challenge, while his father Jos feels Hamilton should be wary.
“People often forget that Max regularly had to take more risks, because he was in a slower car than, for example, Hamilton,” the former driver told De Telegraaf.
“Max always drives on the edge. People want to see that too. Vettel and Hamilton get a bit nervous when he drives behind them. Nice isn’t it?”
Earlier this year Max signed a new long-term deal with Red Bull that will keep him at the Milton Keynes team until the end of 2023.
