Manchester City journalist Sam Lee suggests Roberto de Zerbi is a good candidate to replace Pep Guardiola at Etihad in the future.
Brighton's boss is doing an exceptional job at his current team, leading them to a potential European football for the next season. In their latest game, the Seagulls did a huge favour to Pep Guardiola's team, celebrating a massive 3 - 0 victory over the title contenders Arsenal.
Speaking about De Zerbi on the latest edition of the Let Me Talk podcast, Lee shared his appreciation towards the manager and his huge contribution to the Brighton squad. The journalist believes the 43-year-old has all qualities to take charge of the Citizens one day.
“In terms of the way they play out from the back, that puts him in the frame. He is an interesting one to keep an eye on because there’s not an obviously massive pool of who on earth could replace Guardiola," he said, as quoted by Manchester City News.
“But in terms of the coaching and the style of play and that identifiable style, to be fair everything he says and everything he’s building at Brighton does suggest that he is a good man-manager and he is doing things the right way but that step and leading City-calibre players is an interesting one.”
