Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says that defending isn’t like riding a bike as it takes to get back into a rhythm.
Klopp was pleased with the contribution of Trent Alexander-Arnold. The defender has been criticized for his defensive work of late.
The German said:
“Look it’s absolutely no problem to be criticised - that’s part of the deal. We are really clear in what we ask each other for, and yes Trent had to improve - and he did.
“So it’s not a criticism in the sense that ‘you lost it, you will never be a good defender again’, it’s just that they all had an exceptional last season, and then had to deal with it in a three week holiday and then they came back and we started new and again.”
Alexander-Arnold has made nine assists in his last ten games at Anfield.
