Jurgen Klopp outlines where Ryan Gravenberch could play this season

On the final day of the transfer window, Liverpool secured the signing of Ryan Gravenberch for a fee of £34 million.

Despite being 21 years old, the Dutchman found it challenging to secure consistent playing time at Bayern Munich, which prompted his decision to leave the club in search of more opportunities.

Now with the Reds, he aims to establish himself as a regular starter, and manager Jurgen Klopp has dropped hints regarding the role he could fulfill.

The Bundesliga giants' manager Thomas Tuchel previously described the midfielder as a box-to-box player who faced difficulties adapting to the German club's 4-2-3-1 system due to their lack of emphasis on a traditional number eight role.

“He’s a box-to-box midfielder for me, an attacking player. The main problem for him is that we don’t really play with a No. 8 in our 4-2-3-1 system.”

Furthermore, Jurgen Klopp has also expressed similar sentiments, characterizing Gravenberch as a versatile midfielder capable of both carrying the ball forward and showcasing strong passing abilities.

"He is super-talented, he can drive the ball, he can be really a box-to-box threat, he is going there. He has a good eye for a pass and a good pass.” stated Klopp said on Liverpoolfc.com.
