Lionel Messi scored a double in their 3-0 win over Liverpool in the Champions League semi-finals first leg. Messi's second goal was an incredible free-kick which amazed not only Barcelona fans but also Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds coach has revealed that he asked Messi why he did what he just did after that free-kick.
“I don’t know if I said something, really,” said Klopp. “At that moment, I might have said ‘why did you do that?!’”
Later Klopp also spoke about their chances at Anfield claiming that there is still hope.
“There’s hope and it’s football," he said. “We are not in a situation where we say it will happen 100 per cent but it’s football. The character of the boys....two of the world’s best strikers are not available and we have to score four goals to go through in 90 minutes.
“As long as we have 11 players on the pitch we will try for 90 minutes to celebrate the Champions League campaign to give it a proper finish.
“That’s the plan. If we can do it wonderful. If we can’t do it, let’s fail in the most beautiful way.”
As a reminder, Liverpool plays the second leg against Barcelona at Anfield on May 7.
