Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has joked about Liverpool’s Premier League lead.
City have won the Premier League title for the last two years, however, failing to keep pace with Liverpool this term. The Reds are leading the league table, with a record 25 points clear of their nearest rivals City. They need just two more wins in order to win the Premier League title since 1990.
However, Jurgen Klopp's side have to wait for their trophy, with world football being suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak. Yet, it is likely that the competition return date will be extended.
De Bruyne
took part in an Instagram live with fellow Belgium internationals Borussia Dortmund midfielder Axel Witsel and Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku on Tuesday night.
Witsel said Dortmund were too close to leading the Bundesliga table, with the club standing 4 points behind their rivals, Bayern Munich.
He said:
"Since January, we play really well. We were in a good position to fight for the titles then we stopped."
But De Bruyne quickly said:
"Yeah, we were fighting for the title too, we were almost there! It’s hard [to win the title every year]. But you try. It’s crazy because we don’t know what’s going to happen. People ask us what is going to happen, but we don’t even know."
