Kim Clijsters is set to make her tennis comeback at 36

Former world number one Kim Clijsters, 36, returns to the tennis world after the two retirements she had in 2007 and 2012 for the family, according to the BB. She is going to take part in the WTA Tour in 2020 in January. The ex-world number one has been "inspired" by other mothers such as Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka. "Mothers are trying to compete at the highest level - that is the inspiration. I don't really feel like I want to prove something. I think for me it's the challenge,” said the 36-year-old. “My goal right now is to be able to be fit enough to compete at the highest level and then if you get to that stage, let's see if I can get to the second stage of a Grand Slam. I will continue to push myself each goal I set." Clijsters is eligible for unlimited wildcards at WTA tournaments. She may need to play three tournaments or earn 10 ranking points for re-establishment of her ranking.
