Daniel Sturridge has revealed Tottenham’s Harry Kane is reminding him of Roberto Firmino after dropping into a more deep-lying role this season for his side.
Speaking on part two of his appearance on
The Beautiful Game Podcast, former Reds man has pointed out the similarities between Kane and Firmino.
“You see Spurs playing a different style of football now, more counter-attacking. Harry Kane playing a little bit deeper,” he said.
“I think the way they’re attacking is almost similar to Liverpool’s style, in the way they’re trying to play the game now, and it’s helping them be successful, and they’re playing counter-attacking.
“Son’s running in behind, Bergwijn’s running in behind and Gareth Bale’s running in behind. Kane’s kind of like Firmino now in how he’s dropping deeper, Kane would traditionally be playing on the shoulder.”
