Leeds United are in talks with Benfica wonderkid

Leeds United are in talks with Benfica wonderkid Florentino Luís, according to TMW journalist Tancredi Palmeri. However, they will face competition from AC Milan and Real Betis.

    The Seria A side wanted to sign the player on a loan deal, however, after promotion to the Premier League, Leeds United want to sign the youngster. They began negotiations in February and a week ago, the club representatives meet with the agent of Florentino, Bruno Carvalho Santos to discuss the possible transfer. Last year, Florentino signed a new deal with the Portuguese side, which doubled his release clause from €60 million to €120m. However, his price dropped in January when Florentino lost his place in the first-team. The Premier League side will not make an offer between €20m and €30 million. Manchester City were earlier credited with interest the previous April, with Florentino seen as a long-term successor to Fernandinho at the Etihad Stadium. Source: TMW
