Celtic boss Neil Lennon still has faith in striker Leigh Griffiths, despite the fact the player wasn’t in the squad for the Scottish club Final on Sunday.
Football pundit Kris Boyd harshly claimed earlier this month that the player has just weeks to save his career at Celtic.
However, Lennon hit back at critics and is set to involve Griffiths in the Europa League game against Cluj on Thursday.
Lennon then addressed Griffiths’ future in the club, claiming that being left out of the Scottish Cup squad has no bearing on his future with the club.
“Leigh’s attitude has been excellent. He has been begging for the opportunity, so he’s got one now. We know what he can do, he just has to go out there and be free in what he does” he said.
“We are certainly not writing him off. None of those soundbites are coming from anyone inside the club.”
