Lewis Hamilton defended by F1 legend after fans turn on five-time world champion

Lewis Hamilton sparked worldwide fears yesterday when he wrote a message on Instagram saying he considered “giving up on everything.” Hamilton quickly deleted the message which was uploaded his Instagram story. “Honestly, I feel like giving up on everything. Shut down completely,” he wrote. “Why bother when the world is such a mess and people don’t seem to care. I’m going to take a moment away to gather my thoughts. Thank you to those of you who do give a damn about the world.” Some supporters labelled him a hypocrite for driving petrol cars and jetting around the world for his job. But F1 legend Damon Hill has moved to defend the five-time world Champion. "Lewis will get no end of flack for this, being a jet setting F1 star,” Hill tweeted. “We are all hypocritical to greater or lesser degrees. But if people like him don't speak out then we all carry on in the same vein and don't even try to change. It's not that bad, eating carrots."
