Lionel Messi has opened up as the Copa America tournament was postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Competition's 47th edition was planned to take place this summer but the spread of the COVID-19 virus led to changes in the sporting calendar.
Speaking about the case, Messi has shared his disappointment on the tournament's postponement, however, admitted it was the right thing to do.
The six-time Ballon d'Or winner told Adidas' Mindfulness Matters series:
"Pushing back the Copa América was a huge disappointment, but of course it was to be expected and was the reasonable thing to do.
The Copa was going to be a big occasion for me this year, and I was extremely excited to compete in it again.
It hit me hard when I learned it would be postponed, but I completely understood."
