Lionel Messi speaks out on Liverpool defeat
Barcelona star Lionel Messi has labelled the defeat from Liverpool as ‘unjustifiable’.
La Liga champions are currently preparing for Copa Del Rey final against Valencia.
Barcelona had massive chances to reach Champions League final and complete a potential treble after beating Liverpool at Camp Nou Stadium 3-0. Messi scored twice in that game, but he and his teammates faced a nightmare at Anfield, where Liverpool beat them 4-0 to produce one of the best comebacks in the history of the tournament.
Messi says whatever happens this season, they will be remembered for the defeat, as it was in 2017/18 season, when they lost to AS Roma 3-0 at Stadio Olimpico after beating Italian side 4-1 at Camp Nou in Champions League quarterfinals.
Argentine international also accepts that it (the defeat to Liverpool) was a massive blow for them and they have surely failed.
Liverpool will face Tottenham in Champions League final at Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, Madrid, on June 1.
