Barcelona would love to re-sign Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar, according to Lionel Messi.
"I see it as complicated. We would love him to come back for what he means, both as a player and for the locker room," Messi told Marca.
"We are friends, we have lived very nice moments, others not so much, but we have spent a lot of time together. However, I find it very difficult [for him] to even leave Paris. PSG are not going to let Neymar get taken away."
The 26-year-old scored 105 goals in 186 appearances for Barcelona between 2013 and 2017 before completing a world-record move to PSG in the summer of 2017.
On working again with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, Messi added: "It's always nice to play with great players. Although it's difficult, I would like to work with Guardiola again. He's one of the best coaches in the world."
