Liverpool are set to become Premier League champions after UEFA remove 'null and void' option

Liverpool are set to end their 30-year wait to win Premier League title, following UEFA's decision to rule out the season being declared "null and void". Premier League, Champions League and other major football leagues around Europe are currently suspended due to coronavirus pandemic. Liverpool fans had been concerned that the pandemic would deny them a Premier League title. However, European football's governing body insisted that domestic campaigns would be settled on 'sporting merit'. Champions League places will likely be decided on a points-per-game basis if remaining matches cannot be played. A play-off could also be held, but Premier League clubs are believed to favour PPG as the fairest method. Liverpool are 25 points ahead of second-placed Manchester City. Jurgen Klopp's side have won 27 of their 29 games this season, dropping points only twice. Source: Daily Mail
