Liverpool’s Champions League hero Divock Origi is expected to sign a new long-term contract with the club.
Origi amazed fans with his hugely-important goals for the Reds throughout the campaign.
The Belgian netted the winner in the Merseyside derby as well as two goals against Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals.
Origi went on to score in the final against Tottenham in a 2-0 win which saw Liverpool win their sixth European Cup.
And now the club want to award him for the heroics he did with a new improved contract. According to Football Insider, Origi has agreed terms on a new contract with Klopp, who spoke to his striker while on holiday.
The report also states that the deal is for five years and will see Origi earn a big pay rise.
Origi has yet to respond to Liverpool’s offer but the club are remain positive about the Belgium international’s eventual decision.
The 24-year-old notched seven goals in 21 appearances last season, after looking like he would be on his way out of the Premier League last summer.
