Liverpool could enter the talks for West Ham centre-back Declan Rice in the summer transfer window. According to The Telegraph, Chelsea have frozen their interest in the player after manager Frank Lampard's departure. Rice has been linked with a move to Chelsea during Lampard's reign at Stamford Bridge. Rice started his career at Chelsea and it was reported that he could return to his boyhood club. However, The Telegraph reports that the Blues are unlikely to pursue Rice. The decision will give an advantage to Liverpool. While the player continues to be at the centre of attention, his West Ham boss David Moyes insists that the 22-year-old was not for sale. Rice is valued at over £80million by his club, a fee which could beat Liverpool's transfer record. Virgil van Dijk is currently the most expensive signing of all time as he joined the Reds for £75m.
