Liverpool dealt blow in their pursuit of a midfielder

Liverpool could be set to miss out in their pursuit of Real Madrid's Dani Ceballos as Tottenham joins the race for the 22-year-old. According to some reports, Tottenham are close to securing a loan deal for Ceballos. Earlier Marca reported that Liverpool were ready to make a £45m bid for the player. Serie A side AC Milan are interested in the player, however, Tottenham are believed to be the favorites. The 22-year-old has made 34 appearances during the 2018/19 season. He has scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists.
