Liverpool superstar Virgil van Dijk has shown support to Gary Lineker. The pundit tweeted to say the controversial European Super League plans could be stopped. The Reds joined 12 other elite football clubs to announce their plans to join European Super League. Supporters, pundits and even managers and players of participating clubs have spoken out against the proposals with BT Sport and BBC presenter Lineker declaring he'd never work on the Super League if it happened. Lineker posted to say the Super League could be stopped in its tracks was 'liked' on the social media platform by Liverpool centre-back Van Dijk. "Football is nothing without its fans," his tweet read. "We’ve seen that clearly over the last 12 months. If fans stand as one against this anti-football pyramid scheme, it can be stopped in its tracks."
