Liverpool have made a decision not to sign a new centre-back in the January transfer window despite the injuries of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.
Reds faced a huge injury blow last week, as Gomez picked up a serious tendon injury during his international duty with England national team. Van Dijk was already out of action and is set to miss the club games for a long term after Jordan Pickford's challenge in the Merseyside derby with Everton.
Now, amid the absence of the Liverpool duo, the club have decided not to go for a new defensive option, according to The Athletic.
Jurgen Klopp's side have been recently linked with a number of players, including RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano and Bayern Munich star David Alaba, but now are eager to rely on the club players.
