Jurgen Klopp reflected on their performance as Liverpool scraped through with a 4-3 victory over Crystal Palace to go seven points clear in the Premier League.
Andros Townsend opened the scoring for Palace, then Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino struck after an icy half-time, only for James Tomkins to restore parity with a far-post header.
Salah then regained the lead, but James Milner’s red card led to a difficult end, as despite Sadio Mane scoring a fourth the hosts were forced to hold on, with Max Meyer’s consolation prompting a late scramble.
Winning on Saturday was crucial, as the Reds can now enjoy a lengthy break before the arrival of Leicester City on January 30, during which they will head to Dubai.
In his post-match press conference Jurgen Klopp said: “Two days recovery, then we start preparation for the Leicester game,” Klopp explained of the upcoming warm-weather training camp.
“It will not be a real break, there will be training.”
On Mohamed Salah's record of 50 Premier League goals Klopp said: “He’s world class. Simply world class.

“We tried to control the game but we were not patient enough. They didn’t come out of their half so we were trying to play in really small spaces.
“They had their counter attack still and that’s how they got their set pieces. I think it’s a foul on Virgil van Dijk, they always block heavily but then they go and score the goal for 2-2. We got lucky for 3-2 and with all the set pieces they’re still a threat so it stayed interesting until the end. The result is massive, we have 60 points now it’s crazy, it’s an important number. I’m really proud, a few things happened that we don’t really need, we’re a bit short now on players but we have a few days and need to use the time now for recovery.”
