In their last game of their pre-season tour of America Liverpool played against Sporting at Yankee Stadium. The Reds goalkeeper Simon Mignolet followed in Loris Karius  footsteps by letting a shot from Manchester United target Fernandes slip though his hands and into the net. The shot came in just the fourth minute of Liverpool's clash against Sporting Lisbon in New York's Yankee stadium.
