In their last game of their pre-season tour of America Liverpool played against Sporting at Yankee Stadium.
The Reds goalkeeper Simon Mignolet followed in Loris Karius footsteps by letting a shot from Manchester United target Fernandes slip though his hands and into the net.
The shot came in just the fourth minute of Liverpool's clash against Sporting Lisbon in New York's Yankee stadium.
It angered Liverpool fans as they pleaded with boss Jurgen Klopp to sell goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, after the Belgian’s horror mistake.

Buy Fernandes sell Mignolet,” one wrote.
Another tweeted: “Sell mignolet sick of it.”
One upset fan tweeted: “Time comes when you have to move on! Great lad that he is. It’s only for his sake.”
“This guy is actually so bad,” one wrote.
“Can we just sell him now, I am tired of this,” tweeted another fan.
One posted: “This is why he is on the bench .....calamity magnet”
Another wrote: “He won't play one single EPL game. He is aware of that.”
Despite the fans’ disappointment, the club has no interest in selling Mignolet.
