Unai Emery arrived Arsenal following Arsene Wenger’s decision call time on his spell with north Londoners. The new coach has had a very busy summer by bringing in a number of new players such as Lucas Torreira, Bernd Leno, Sokratis, Matteo Guendouzi and Stephan Lichtsteiner, who are playing alongside Arsenal existing squad.
However, there are a number of players, whose contracts are to expire in the nearest future.
Let’s have a look at those players’ contracts.
- Aaron Ramsey – 2019
Ramsey has yet to sign a new deal at the Emirates as his current contract expiring in the summer. So Arsenal hope that an agreement could be.
- Danny Welbeck – 2019
Welbeck has been linked with Everton and Southampton in the transfer window. Though he remains behind Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang in the pecking order at Arsenal, he will anyway get plenty of opportunities over the cource of the season.
- Nacho Monreal – 2019
Linked with La Liga club Real Sociedad in the summer, Unai Emery has a decision on his hands as to whether or not he extends the left-back's deal.
- Petr Cech – 2019
Cech , who joined Arsenal from Chelsea in 2015, is currently facing a competition from Bernd Leno for the No. 1 shirt.
- David Ospina – 2019
Leno's summer move to north London helped pave the way for the Colombian to move on.
- Stephan Lichtsteiner – 2019
The experienced Swiss international joined Arsenal in the summer in a one-year conratc.
- Carl Jenkinson – 2020
The defender signed a five-year deal in 2015 but he could move on in January after picking up an injury.
- Laurent Koscielny – 2020
The French defender arrived at the club in 2010and he will leave once his contract expires.
- Sokratis – 2021
Signed from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, the Greek international joined the Gunners on a three-year deal. He has an option of extending his contract by a further year.
- Mesut Ozil – 2021
Ozil signed from Real Madrid in 2013 and is one of the biggest earner at the club with his new deal said to be worth up to £350,000 a week..
- Henrikh Mkhitaryan – 2021
Mkhitaryan joined in January as part of the deal that saw Alexis Sanchez move to Manchester United.He has already made a good impact in north London, operating alongside Ozil in the playmaker role.
- Emiliano Martinez – 2022
The goalkeeper penned a long-term deal with the club in November 2016.With Leno’s arrival Emiliano has got less opportunities at the club.
- Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang – 2022
Arsenal signed Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund in January, allowing Olivier Giroud to leave for Chelsea at the same time.
- Alexandre Lacazette – 2022
The French striker joined from Lyon in 2017 and was Arsenal’s club record signing before Aubameyang arrived in January. Lacazette had a good start to life in north London following knee surgery.
- Calum Chambers – 2022
The young England defender is currently on loan with Fulham after previously spending the 2016/17 season on loan at Middlesbrough.
- Sead Kolasinac – 2022
The Bosnian defender joined on a free transfer from Schalke last summer.
- Mohamed Elneny – 2022
Arsenal accepted an offer from Leicester City for the Egypt international in the summer of 2017 but he decided to stay at the Emirates.
- Matteo Guendouzi – 2022
Joining Emery's side on a four-year deal, Guendouzi has the option of extending his deal by a further year.
- Bernd Leno – 2023
The German goalkeeper signed in the summer from Bayer Leverkusen.
- Hector Bellerin – 2023
The Spaniard signed a huge six-and-a-half year deal in 2016 having established himself as one of the most exciting young full-backs in world football.
- Rob Holding – 2023
The young defender joined from Bolton in 2016 and ended his first season as a regular in the side, starting in the FA Cup final win against Chelsea.
- Lucas Torreira – 2023
The highly-rated midfielder penned a deal until 2023.
- Granit Xhaka – 2023
Arsenal signed Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2016 and so far he has divided opinion at the Emirates.
- Konstantinos Mavropanos – 2023
Arsenal signed the young Greek defender from PAS Giannina in January, he was the first player signed on the recommendation of new head of recruitment Sven Mislintat.
- Alex Iwobi – 2023
The Nigeria international joined Arsenal in the 2015/16 and continues to be a favourite at the Emirates.
