Luke Shaw’s England teammates admitted hey feared worst after the defender collapsed while challenging for an aerial ball after half time in Saturday’s 2-1 Nations League defeat at Wembley.
Shaw was treated by ten members of the medical team for close to seven minutes and given oxygen before being carried off motionless on a stretcher.
After the incident Liverpool midfielder Henderson said post-match: “I wasn’t very close at the time but I've seen his head sort of shook.
“I think he is OK, back in there now. At first I didn’t know how serious it was, but obviously when the paramedics come on with the stretcher and the neck brace you start to fear the worst.
“Touch wood, I think he’s OK. That’s the main thing.”
Left-back Shaw was X-rayed and was thankfully soon walking and talking in the changing room. Shaw himself posted on his social media account making assuring everyone he is Ok.
