Manchester City fullback Joao Cancelo has been recently linked with Arsenal. Allegedly Arteta's side is interested in acquiring the player this summer.
The Portugal international moved to Bayern Munich on loan at the beginning of the season after a disagreement with City boss Pep Guardiola. Yet, after a €70 million deal, the Bavarian giants used Cancelo mostly as a substitute and do not seem enthusiastic to keep him on their side, reports Sky Germany.
"Even Cancelo himself does not expect to play for Bayern beyond the end of the season. Tendency at this stage: He will leave Bayern in summer but the bosses are trying to find a solution."
Due to a similar style of play, the former Inter Milan defender can serve as an alternative to Arsenal's left-back Oleksandr Zichenko, who is set to miss rest of the season due to an injury.
