Manchester City to hold talks with Real Madrid over their £20million midfielder

Real Madrid keep negotiations with Manchester City over highly-rated youngster Brahim Diaz, according Marca. The Premier League club demand £20million for the 19-year-old, while Real have offered around £10m for a player who is out of contract in the summer. The main reason for Diaz to leave the club is the lack of playing time. The 19-year-old has played just three games and scored twice so far this season. However, despite the transfer moving closer, Pep Guardiola has insisted he doesn't want to lose his compatriot. Guardiola said: 'We want Brahim here, the opinion we have of him is very good but in the end, he is competing with [Raheem] Sterling, [Leroy] Sane, [Riyad] Mahrez, Bernardo[Silva]...' he said of the player's situation. 'It is hard to get minutes. You can't imagine how hard it is to leave players like Brahim out of the team, I tell you that so often.' Should Brahim leave Manchester City he would be the second youngster to depart the club for first-team football in less than two years.
