Manchester City look to Barcelona star to solve defensive woe

Manchester City have struggled defensively this year after conceding 19 goals. The club decided against replacing Vincent Kompany and they suffered a further blow with the injury to centre back Aymeric Laporte. According to L'Equipe, Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti could be set to join Manchester City. City 'now view Umtiti as a possible January transfer amid a defensive shortage' at the Etihad Stadium. Umtiti has made only five appearances for Barcelona this season so far and has missed 10 games through injury.
