Manchester City have reportedly joined Manchester United in the race for Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish. The Citizens are on the race for a replacement Leroy Sane, who is set to leave the club for Bayern Munich. According to The Telegraph, Pep Guardiola is an admirer of the playmaker.
Grealish has been an impressive performer for the Villans on their return to the Premier League, scoring seven goals and adding six assists in 30 appearances this term. He has been linked with a move to Manchester United, who are reportedly readying a summer bid for the 24-year-old.
Meanwhile, City need to replace Sane in the summer and Guardiola believes Grealish could be the man to fill the void left by the German. Pep Guardiola confirmed that the winger would leave the club earlier this month.
“Leroy has rejected to extend his contract. Everyone knows. If at the end of the season two clubs agree he can leave, if not he will leave at the end of his contract,” Guardiola said. “The club offered two or three times and he rejected it.”
