Manchester City youngsters Finley Burns and Shea Charles are the latest players
to pen long-term deals at the club.
18-year-old centre-back Charles has progressed up through the academy from Under-9s level, signed his first professional contract in July but has impressed with his performances at EDS level and in first-team training under the watchful eye of Pep Guardiola.
While another 18-year-old central defender, Burns, was signed from Southend United in 2017 for a record sum of £175,000. Having taken time to settle and learn the City philosophy, the teenager has repaid the faith shown in him. He made his professional debut in the Carabao Cup win over Wycombe in September 2021, with Guardiola afterwards comparing him to a watch for his precise timing.
The pair have signed new contracts that will keep them at the Etihad until 2027. Any decisions over a January loan move have yet to be made for either.
