Manchester United give David de Gea injury update after win vs Southampton

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given an injury update David de Gea. The boss believes the goalkeeper will be fit enough to face Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night despite being forced off with injury during the win at Southampton. De Gea collided with a post as he attempted to stop James Ward-Prowse's first-half free-kick at St Mary's and he didn't return after the break. The player was fit enough to take his seat in the stands for the second half and he witnessed a fine United comeback. "A knock just above the knee, hopefully he’ll be OK for Wednesday," Solskjaer told MUTV when asked about De Gea's fitness. "Dean came on and was very assured." Solskjaer instead focused on the quality of the display from his side, with United creating plenty of chances, including in a first half that didn't go to plan. "It’s a difficult league, of course, but the no fans away from home has had an impact on that record," said Solskjaer. "We just care about the three points and the manner they came. From the first kick to the last the boys were focused and ready, we played well and created chances but we got what we deserved."
