Barcelona have begun negotiations to extend the contract of full-back Jordi Alba, according to the Diario Sport.
The 29-year-old wants to commit his long-term future to the club but the Blaugrana are said to have delayed the offer for economic purposes.
Alba’s current deal at the Camp Nou expires in June 2020 and possesses a €150m release clause but he wants an improved contract.
The left-back has played more than 250 matches for Barcelona after his 2012 move from Valencia.
It has been reported, that Manchester United interested in signing the defender.
